NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS

The scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in a nursing program who demonstrate financial need, have maintained a 3.0 GPA (2.0 for practical nursing), and have demonstrated clinical proficiency, enthusiasm, and motivation in their studies of nursing. Preference will be given to students who are in the latter half of their nursing program. Preference will be given to Rhode Island residents enrolled in a Rhode Island nursing program. 

Application Deadline: June 1^st for RN students and May 1st for PN students

Notification and Presentation: Mid-July for RN students; May for PN students -- Presentation will be made at an award ceremony

1. The applicant to submit an essay with cover letter that includes your name, address, telephone number, nursing program, and expected date of graduation.
2. The essay is to be a short, two to three paragraph essay about the reason(s) why the scholarship is needed to complete nursing program.
3. One (1) copy of transcript must be included by applicant with cover letter.
4. Two (2) letters of recommendation with one (1) from a nursing faculty member to be mailed by the reference to the address below.
5. Forward above information to the Scholarship Committee, Nursing Foundation of RI, PO Box 41702, Providence, RI 02940.

Distribution: The scholarship recipients will be notified by mail. A check will be written jointly payable to the recipient and the school.
